23 September 2013

So, Pinia and I continued our action activity with the same martial art as we have passed the white belt level. I was glad that we were able to pass the first level and continue to the next level. The next belt is a dark green belt, which has more movements for us to memorize and practice. Some of the movements we practiced are: "Macan Tutul", "Menerobos Barisan", "Bunga Jatuh", "Memecah Angin", and "Kaki Besi". This has the similar movements from previous level, only it is more complicated. Therefore, we focused on "Macan Tutul" since it requires us to roll forward without our head touching the ground and it is rather difficult for us.

11 October 2013

Today, we focused on physical practices and "keterampilan". These "keterampilan" requires us to roll forward, backward, and sideways. This enhances our flexibility and body movement so that we are able to do other rolling movements easier. Also we had movements like, "Ikan Lehi Meletik" where we had to flip ourself forward. Cartwheel is also included but this one requires only one hand instead of two hands to roll.

28 October 2013

There is an additional movement to the green belt level, which is called "Besetan Bambu". This is where we need to us the flexes of our arms to defend ourselves. The direction moves towards the opponent to avoid our face from being attacked. This was rather a complicated movement because there are two parts where we defend ourself from different sides so it is difficult for opponents to attack from sides.

 2 December 2013

For the green belt level, we are required to learn a Long Movement. This is the second long movement given to us that is required to pass the examination later. The long movement involves a series of short walks that we have practiced earlier. This long movement enables us to apply the series of short walks in a form of animals, which shows how humans are intertwined with nature.

30 December 2013

Today, we continued to review all the movements to prepare us for the exam. We are a little nervous for this, because we have only been practicing this level for a few months, which is commonly still too early to switch to the next level. However, we tried to be a risk taker and take the examination to prove ourselves that we are able to do it no matter what.

13 January 2014

Today, we still review for the examination. We focus more on the challenging stunts that requires us to be courages because we need to be able to fall and roll and jump. It requires many challenging actions because we do not practice on mats but on a wooden floor. So if we fall, it would hurt our body much. However, we are not easily discouraged by that because although Pinia and I are girls, we prove ourselves that we are not weak in doing this.

30 September 2013

Today, Ibu Heti gave us an additional movement to the previous movements that has already been given to us. We were able follow her movements and memorize some of them. Although, we still got confused with the names for some movements. We need to fix that soon. At the same time, Ibu Heti also gave us other movements than the short walks, like "Jatuhan", "Salto", "Falling backwards", and "Rolling backwards". This was also difficult for me since the ground area is from wood and not mat so when I fall in the incorrect movement, I will fall hard and it would ache my body. hello hello hello hello

14 October 2013

Ibu Heti gave us one more movement for the green belt short walks, it is called "Menerobos Barisan". This movement requires strong feet to because one has to squat and rise for several times. This also builds a strong muscle for the lower part of the body, which is useful when doing long walks. I challenged myself to not give up easily because this movement is very tiring. hello hello hello hello

11 November 2013

Today, we reviewed all the movements from the last practices. This helps us to remember all the names of each movements and remember the types of movements. Then, we were given an additional movement called "Tekgiok" and several other kicks. "Tekgiok" enables us to elasticize our thighs as well as to strengthen it. It is a movement where we squat without help from our arms.

27 December 2013

By today, we have finished all the exam materials. We reviewed all the movements and practiced each of them so we are able to remember it for the exam. We had difficulties with several movements because we are confused which movement is for which name. We asked Ibu Heti to make sure about this and we tried to remember it.

10 January 2014

The review we do for today focuses on the technical skills. Although we may not be perfect yet with the movements, but we make sure that it is technically correct on how the arms swims and how we kick correctly to the right angle. This shows the examiner that we understand the movement correctly and know how to use it correctly. Hello

27 January 2014

Today is our last day that we are able to review all the examination materials. Ibu Heti is there to help us remember by mentioning the name of the movements and we have to act them out as soon as possible. She said that we should not worry too much about the examination because she knows that we can do it good. We will also review at home to make ourselves ready.
